Hi Again, well i changed my mind and bought this mb

http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/G41M-P28.html

I did spash out a bit for me and got a slight better cooler and 8 gb of memory
and a radeon 5450 graphics card (Christmas pressy!!!!:))

so yesterday i put it all together and it works like a dream ,my first proper attempt at building one from scratch

i got 2 more question while i`m here

i`ve got a 450w psu according to thermaltake power calculator i`m ok ??

and another question someone told me not to put my portable hdd on top of my pc case it`s to close to the psu is that fact or fiction

Cheers Tony

What PSU do you have?

Also, I see no reason why you cannot put your portable HDD on top of your PC case, whether it's near the PSU or not shouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

There is no reason to worry about static or electromagnetic issues

Can`t remember the brand of my psu its just a basic one 450w

I think the person who told me not to put it on top of my case was thinking about electromagnetic issues ( he is a bit ofa know it all !!!) but i`ve had one there before with no problems

:)
