Super Frustrating Subtitle Issues

I have obtained the movie Seven Samurai (1954) and im also on a Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Bruce Lee kick so, in short I'm watching alot of movies not in English. I've obtained two different copies of Seven Samurai. Neither of which are allowing me to view subtitles with the movie. I know you're supposed to make them the same file name with the correct extensions such as asdf.mkv and asdf.srt. I've done that with both movies and still no subtitles show up in Windows Media Player or ASUSDVD. It is extremely bothersome. I am semi-computer literate so you can come at me with all the lingo and i may have to ask for a definition on a few things is all.

Saying you "obtained" these movies leads me to think you torrented them, which we don't support on this forum.

I'm sorry. I will be busy for the next while so if my thread needs to be deleted I will understand. I didn't mean to cause any issues.
