Super G 108

I have upgraded my router, and the new one has super G 108Mbps capabilities.

Being nieve I thought this would allow my current laptop to access at this speed - I didn't buy the router specifically for this reason, but did pay a little extra to jump from the 54 to 108.

I have a HP Pavilion Zv6000, with internal WIFI card. Can I upgrade the internal card, or do I need to install one that sticks out the side (I hate them!).

You probably need a pc-card(one that "sticks out") to get those speeds. There may be some internal card you could get, but typically you have to match cards with the router(same brand and what not) However, I havn't heard many great stories about such cards. This is basically an expansion of 802.11g, and not a "true" standard(like wireless "n" that is 108mbps)

uh i have wireless interent, netgear X.X, what is faster and wouldnt be that much more expenise?

the speed of your router makes no difference to your overall internet speed just so you know.
normal internet is about 4mbps
you will probably connect wirelessly at 54mbps

this means INTERNET is 4mbps of the 54, the remaining 50 is basically being wasted

this means as long as your connected at over 4mbps, your not losing any bandwidth
