Super Slow Laptop!!! So Slow It Hurts

My laptop is so slow it takes 20 seconds to cross of the internet and takes around 55 seconds to fully get windows media player up and ready:eek:
it were so slow i had to delete my account then i did defragmentator and disk clean-up i saw some speed but not enough to be comftable with it so could you PLEASE help me out and tell me a step by step walkthrough or if you recommened any good useful software that would be nice.:D
But at the moment i'm so :mad: with my laptop.
 
Right click my computer select properties. In the lower right hand corner of the window should show cpu speed and Memory available.

Is it a name brand Laptop? Dell, Hp Etc...
 
If you're using Windows XP, right click with mouse on the "my computer " icon on desktop. Under the general TAB you'll see the operating system (including service pack) + processor (pentium ? ATI ?) and speed (Ghz ?) + available RAM. Start with this.
What's the comp brand ?
 
first, don't double post so fast it won't help.
Do not try to copy and paste, just note them down on a piece of paper and then post them here

Thats your problem you only have 192mb of ram and you have a celeron. If your running windows XP then you will need to upgrade to 512mb-1gig of ram and things should be running alot smoother.
 
around $70. Also, download Spybot Search and Destroy, and scan your comptuer for spyware.
