svchost.exe -> 100% cpu

hey this is starting to get annoying for me...everytime i turn on the computer it takes around 10 second to load, but when its on desktop everything runs slow.i noticed in task manager svchost.exe is running 100%. sometimes i gotta wait more than 30 minute so that it will calm doown.

anyone know how to fix this?


computer: compaq presario SR1030nx
os: windows xp sp2

i tried disabling everything onstart up and it still didnt work...

@john, i recently scanned my pc and nothing seems to be infected or dectected...from what i heard this svchost.exe is a bug due to windows update.
 
About John's idea: Give it a try and post a log so he can take a look at it. It's possible for the antivirus program not to find anything but you can still be infected.

About my link: If you decide to go with the link can you post the results so i can see if it actually works?
