Svideo hookup

I have a 20 inch flat pannel tv and I decided to hook it up to my graphics card. It has a svideo out and a wierd adapter that was the only one that I could use (my tv doesn't have svideo). One one end is the svideo connection and the other end there are 3 connectors that are red, green, and blue. I found out by testing the blue is for video but I can't get the audio to work. I really want to do this because my surround system is only 100w and I don't have a proper setup for surround so I want to hook up my 240w stereo to my pc. I could live without the tv, I want the stereo. So, can you tell me how to fix this? Or do I not have the right equipment? If so, can I buy a cheap adapter so I can hook up my stereo to it? (my stereo has the red and white connectors).

Well plug the blue into the tv (video) and the red and green into the stereo... Make sure the stereo is on aux.. or whatever you hav it plugged in as.. and your computer music volume is turned up.. not muted. Turn something on. There might also be a feature to enable the sounds for the s video.

Alternatively, if you cant get that to work, just use the audio out from the sound card (port). This is a 3.5mm plug in, which can be converted to an rca connection. Plug that into your stero.

You need to use plugs from your sound card not your video card. use the blue(if it works) for the video, then you should use the audio from your sound card.

amnd S-VIDEO has the capibilty to sent sound and video, but if you do it thought your PC it most likly WONT, and only be video.

wait wait wait! s-Video only sends Video!

BTW the red, blue and green color code if for component video.

lol... Well, I really don't care about the video that much, is there some cheap adapter to convert my pc sound hookup (intergrated 5.1) to stereo? (red and white)
