swap core 2 duo's

I'd recommend at least a 2.4ghz core 2 duo. 2.6ghz if you can. It will improve performance but not by double i don't think.
Make sure your PSU can handle it. if your a gamer, get at least 500 watt with more than 24 amps on 12v rail. If yours is better already then don't bother.

any advantage of the 3.3 ghz vs the 2.6 ghz?

talked to hp tech for hour. he said that i should look for:

Core 2 Duo E6x00 (Conroe core)
Core 2 Duo E4x00 (Conroe core)
Pentium E2000 series (Conroe core, 1 MB cache)
Pentium 4 6x1 series (Cedar Mill core)
Celeron (Conroe core)
Celeron D 3xx series (Cedar Mill core)

that lead me to a e6850 @ 3.0 ghz

but then he said it wouldn't make any difference making my system faster.....
??????????????????? i'm at 1.86ghz now....

help....i'm confused again
