Swappable HD's or some other for two computers in one

I built a hot desktop for my home work stuff. The computer is set up just like I want it, I never want it on the internet to deal with Win update and all the related nonsense.

I'd like to replace this pathetic 6yr old Vista laptop I'm on that I use for the internet. With the above in mind, what's the best way to run two separate hard drives and swap between them? Boot HD#1 for work, Boot HD#2 for internet. I'm running SCSI if that's important. I'd prefer not to leave the case open and swap HD cables all the time.

You can multi-boot. Run one copy of Windows for personal use, and another for business use. You just choose between the two upon boot.

Segregating hard drives for this use is kind of useless. If you happened to become infected with something and had the other drive connected then it'd be toast anyway.

Win update and all the related nonsense.

Why do you feel that Windows Update is nonsense?

I'm running SCSI if that's important.

On a laptop? I doubt it.

I've done that with XP and NT but both drives were accessible. Maybe there's a way around that. I'll do some reading, thank you.

I don't know how many times I've had to figure out what Win update has changed and revert back to my original settings. The most recent was killing my ethernet connection to the CNC. I planned to only use a flash drive between the two systems and anti virus. While not bullet proof, it si robust enough that I've not had a problem so far.

SCSI is the desktop. Sorry if my writing confused you.
