Swapping out Video cards anything i should know?

Finally bought my 2nd gpu today to replace my bad one but I've never swapped out a gpu before i only know how to put them in lol, Im just wondering anything i should know to do? ( i will probably dust out my computer first) but besides that anything else?

Im getting a gtx msi 670, and my previous card is amd. Just asking all this because my physics teacher once said he fried his computer trying to replace the gpu and im not sure what he did but im just trying to avoid that lol.

Download the right drivers for your card from here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/75991
After that, you need to uninstall the drivers with the program (safest) that can be downloaded with this link:
http://www.guru3d.com/files_get/display_driver_uninstaller_download,10.html

Run the program and shut down your pc after the program forced your pc to restart.
Disable the power switch on the back of your PSU
Remove the screws and HDMI/DVI cables, remove the power cables on the GPU (if there are any) and push the locker to unlock your card. Then remove the card.
Install your new card... Shouldn't be difficult. Be sure to add power connectors leading to your GPU because the GTX 670 needs some extra juice. (I hope you got well branded 500W PSU or higher)

Start your pc after you connected the DVI/HDMI cable. When you're booted into windows, install the driver you downloaded like said above^.
