Switch out CompUSA PSU ASAP?!

Bad link! A good 450-500w would be adequte for power and add a little extra for any hardwares you may add. Plus you are OCing things from your sig where the need for a larger supply seems to be there. If you upgrade the case there wth a card lke a 7900 or X1900 you will need an SLI ready supply.

The power I have right now is fine with what I have. It's on a safety level.... I checked the specs on this and it mentions nothing about any surge protection and, like what I said earlier, I don't want it frying my system if it ever craps out or gets surged. (Not to mention it's a pretty crappy PSU in the first palce.....) Also, I want something that has PCIe support if I ever decide to upgrade...... don't really care about SLI.

To run even a single 7900 or X1900 model card you will need to meet the 450w size recommended. The supply you are running now is an aftermarket cheapie with their name stamped on it most likely. I can imagine they charged you the same amount you would pay for a nice stable model supply with it's own surge protection and breaker switch included along with meeting the supply needs for a newer card design.

For a look at some far better supplies without too high a price, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...789+4027+1294718603&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=58

Actually, I only paid like $25.

Is the money burning a hole in your pocket? You could always send it to me. I haven't eaten in a week.

If your current PSU is working fine for you, don't fix it. I hate when people do that.. Maybe because I'm so cheap. When it comes time to replace it, then buy something better.. You're going to give yourself the trots if you sit there stressing out over "what if" scenarios... lol :D Not to mention you'll go broke.

Don't worry....Be happy....

YEESSSS!!!! LIKE HEMERRIODS!!!!!! (Not that I would know.....)

Good point, I mean it's a semi-crappy machine anyways.... (except the vid card.....) so it wouldn't be too big of a loss if it got fried. We all must die sometime, right? It's the great computer circle of life.......
