Switch to switch

I am connecting a switch to a switch using crossover, but am still not passing data. Was connected and working fine. had a power out to one and no longer passes data to other switch. tried changing ports, replacing the switch, reconfiguring, i am stumped. its almost a dumb switch, only trunk and a password was configured on the switch.
 
what kind of switches? most soho switches just need a straight through. if your using catalyst or expensive 3coms or something you will need a x-over.
