switchs on the Motherboard

hey i secided today im just going to throw out my old computer but not before having a real hands on look inside. So after i took out the old processor for a look i noticed little blue boxs on the motherboard 2 of them have 4 switchs on and another one had eight switchs what are they for?

I haven't seen an 8 switch one, but the 4 switch one is for the CPU multiplier.

They can be for all kinds of things. THey are just used rather than jumpers. One of my old mobo's that died actually had 6 for the CPU multiplier, then 8 switches. I'm not exactly sure what they were for, but I'm sure just various settings on the mobo. Try and find a manual or something if your really intersted.
