I have an nvidia card and I need to switch to my intel graphics card. How do I go about doing this without removing the nvidia card. I have went to display settings and have tried everything but when I plug my monitor into the built in card it tells me to go to the display settings and I have already done that. Can someone just give me step by step instructions.

Im assuming you mean you want to swtich to integrated graphics. You could try entering your BIOS then enabling onboard graphics. But you still might have to take the nvidia one out.

make sure your Onboard Graphics are enabled in BIOS.
Also make sure you have the right drivers installed for the onboard vid.
You will probably also want to go ahead and disable the Nvidia card, you can do this by opening the device manager and right clicking the card and choosing disable.
