Symbols jumbled on keyboard after xp pro install when i moved abroad. Was UK keyboard

I had my computer reformatted and made xp pro a while ago and since all the symbols on the keyboard apart from the letters and space bar, enter etc have been messed up. there is no longer a pound sign and the @ sign has swapped with " its strange. Anyway i think its because the computer was english bought from england, but when i moved to dubai the computer technician must have installed some asian or american keyboard driver or somthing. anyway what is the solution?

Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel-Regional and Language Options click on Languages tab then click Details,and add the language you want.
 
Thanks Ive just tried it now, i also change all the other things from US to UK. Still the @ for exampleis in the wrong place. Maybe i need a restart. Thanks, i will get back to you.
