Symptoms of a damaged proccesor.Please help!

pls. help...what are the symptoms of
a damaged proccesor?my
laptop-compaq AMD k6-2 has
problems w/c i dont understand..
no display on the lcd,but the hardisk
is working when power is on..there
is no beep warning when the power is on.
there were suggestions that the proccesor
is damage w/c i could not determine unless
somebody help me on giving idea's on the
symptoms of a damaged proccesor...ty

Well sometime your Laptop well make beeping noises which can be used to troubleshoot. Our when you turn the computer on nothing happens.

even plugging monitor in, it does not display anything...there is power as indicated on the power light and the fan's are not working when turned on although the hard disk is obviously working coz of the proccessing sound felt...

there's no such beeping sound to show any problem on the hardware side.
the only noises which is felt is from the hardisk which surely indicate that it is properly working/proccessing,
