sync out of range

[Hanamichi]

I have a DVD of ubuntu live OS.When I tried to run this my monitor shows sync out or range.What does this mean?Does this mean that I need a graphics card?

My specs are
Gigabyte GA-945GM-S2
Intel C2D [email protected]
Kingston 512 RAM
Onboard 945 integrated graphics accelerator.

Sounds like your GPU is trying to run a resolution, or more likely, a Hz setting higher than your monitor can handle. Boot to VGA Safe mode.
