Synchronizing a folder on two computers..?

I have a laptop and a desktop and I want to keep one particular folder synchronized between them no matter what changes I make.. Then I want to be able to access the entire contents of this folder even if I'm only using one computer without wan access to the other..

Is this possible? And how would I go about doing this?

PC Anywhere lets you do this. There are server side technologies called home folder syncing but that would require a lot extra set up. If you are running Linux you can do a launch daemon rysnc script. Another application is retrospect.

I'm using Vista, so I spose my first option would be to use the newly-discovered sync center. I have a wireless network set up between the two computers, but sync center can't recognize anything to set up a sync with..

Any help?
