Synology NAS

I've bought a Synology NAS, and I want to wirelessly connect it to my router. I've bought a usb adapter, inserted into the NAS's usb port. However I'm not sure how to, then, connect it to the router wirelessly. The adapter has come with an installation disk also, however, because I want to use it to connect to the NAS, there is no use for it.

Typically a NAS won't support a USB wireless card. In order for it to connect to a wireless network it would have to have a build in wireless adapter. There usually isn't any way to add on that sort of thing.

actually there is

some can be flashed somehow which allows the use of wireless adapters on the NAS but only some NAS's and USB adapters are supported

i wish i still knew the website

Ah, I didn't think about flashing with aftermarket firmware. I was thinking mainly features that they come with from the manufacturer.

there is a risk of damaging it i think but if there are files on there you can get them off easily

i tried it with my NAS and it was really good
