my PC is working fine until i installed my second module of RAM. it has the same capacity but different brand. then, my computer starts crashing. is it because it is of a different brand? i've tried isolating it and the second RAM works ok.

If you have more than two DIMM slots, leave the one that is working and switch the other one around until it works ok, this happened to me on my new build, but mine didn't start with the two stick of ram on, just with one, and I swith the other one until I got the rigth one. I got to work in DIMM #2 and #3.
Your system crash is different problem than mine, but I hope it works too.
