Hello. I've been having some problems with my computer lately... It reboots itself every 15 minutes or so, and I have no idea what to do! Microsoft told me to update my video driver. I've done that multiple times already, along with decreasing the hardware acceleration. I'm wondering if there's just some program that could stop my computer from rebooting, despite the system failure. Any suggestions?

There's no program to stop a system from rebooting. First you have to identify what is causing the restarts. You could well be seeing a hardware failing. The battery on the board itself may need replacing. An overheating problem is one of the main causes to look at as well.

Some general system information along with the age of the system would be needed in order to determine where to start looking. Have you ever performed a bios update since new or did you get the system used?
 
if the battery was failing wouldnt that throw a checksum error on boot up
post back with system temps and fan speeds
 
I had one quit suddenly out of the blue one day. I was wondering what was causing several sudden restarts and lockups until that one day came along where you push the power button and....... nothing! At first you wonder if the supply or board gave out until you decide to try a replacement battery. Zing! :) The light bulb comes on there. A quicl errand for a CR2032 and the system is up and running. :D

Go to your Control Panel. Go to System > Advanced and click on the Start Up and Recovery Settings button. Uncheck Automatically Restart, click Ok and then post the error message here the next time the computer crashes.

That won't help much if the problem is an unstable supply or an overheating problem with the cpu or board. :rolleyes:

One advice would be to run something like SpeedFan to what the temps of the cpu and board are running at. If those are within a normal temp range the supply or bios problem would then be the next things to look at.
