I was about to give up trying to figure it out but I did figure it out.
Ever since my WiFi went out, conne Ted but no internet access my computer is lagging loading menus from right click or loading programs. I disconnect from WiFi. And the issue is gone and loading is back to normAl.
Is there a setting I'm missing causing this. Also I live in apartments so it's free WiFi I have no access to router. I have all workgroups disabled and sharing off

Also when connected to WiFi file transfer between any hard drive is slow. Disconnect from network and its normAl fast speeds

Not figured out. The WiFi signal shows no internet access on all my devices. When laptop connected all my hdd load slow on every read write. Disconnect and problem goes away. Was fine till WiFi went out.

So does the wireless actually give you internet access? It said no internet access at the bottom. It seems thats the problem. Update the wireless driver first. If that don't help then delete your wireless connection and reset it back up. Go into network and sharing center, click on manage wireless networks/connections on left and then delete your home connection and then reset it back up.

Driver is up to date and reset wireless still doing same thing. Seems odd but I can't access router since it's not mine but belongs to apartments

Then I would guess that either the router went bad or security options were changed. Contact owner of router.

Free WiFi downfalls suck. My laptop, desktop, kindle and phone all connect but no internet. Pissed me off. Gonn have to just buy service

Yeah, but I bet everyone has the same password.
If the network is secured using WPA2, then the packets themselves are encrypted so anyone sniffing outside of the network has a much more difficult time intercepting and deciphering those packets.
