Hey guys.
About the computer I'm about to do a system recovery with.
I was hoping I could fix my mom's computer by reformatting the hard drive; using the system recovery tool, which ultimately will restart the computer back to the point where it left the manufacturer.
The reason I am doing this is because firstly, I do believe the computer could use a major clean up, so it can run as fast as it once did, and the other primary reason is because it is infected by spyware, viruses, malware, everything which even corrupted a spyware remover program I had installed, thanks to my brother who downloaded hundreds of porn videos and stuff. Fortunately the computer still operates.
He's a moron by the way...and he's definitely not going to be using the computer after the recovery is complete.
Now the question I have is, performing system recovery will remove all this excess defects to the computer correct, I mean I know that it will obliterate all the files and data on the computer, but will it also get rid of all the spyware and stuff?
I believe it will, but I just want confirmation.
Also, in case the system recovery tool does not work (because I'm doing it with what was saved on the HDD), or is damaged for various reasons, I was able to locate some of the restore discs provided by the manufacturer.
I have the 1. Application and Driver Recovery disc, as well as the 2. OS disc. Am I missing any others? I also have some of the software install discs for like Microsoft Works (but I don't care about those).
I just want to make sure I have all the primary discs that are necessary to successfully get this computer back to operating like it once did.
Thanks.
