system recovery

i just ran a system recovery, all my documents and data files are still in the same location however im not able to launch programs although they are still installed... my adobe photoshop was able to detect that it was installed previously when i tried to start it, however most of my other programs are getting not installed messages although the c: program files was untouched after the restore

i'm guessing the links from the program file to the installed data is what the problem is, my question is how to fix this
 
just simply deleted them or format the hard drive. the latter will also require you to re-install windows.
 
You may have restored back to before they were installed.

Check your Add/Remove Programs to see what's actually installed.

The shortcuts may be leading to nowhere.
