System restore doesn't work

I have Googled and Googled and tried everything I could and have not found a solution to my problem. I have tried various repairs, etc. One thing I notice is that when I list the VSS writers some time out. When I try to create a restore point I get the message in the image. I have Googled that error and couldn't fix the problem. I even did a system repair with the Windows 7 disk! Nothing!

I FIXED THE ISSUE!!! Wow! It turns out it was Softperfects RAM disk I guess. I had the temp files being sent to a 700 MB Partition in RAM. I changed the environmental variables to store temp files in C:\ and stopped the RAM disk from starting with Windows and it has solved my problem.

I also fixed the VSS writer issues too. I just had to reset the computer after using the .exe they have. http://kb.macrium.com/knowledgebasearticle50010.aspx


I was about to completely reformat and do a clean install.
