Hi, i have an HP computer. i noticed that XP comes with a tool called system restore and my HP computer has a feature called HP recovery and it has a seperate harddrive call HP Recovery. are these both acting as a recovery tool and should i disable the windows one? or is it the same thing?

no the windows one will only restore to a date you select and only restores some files you changed. but all your documents stay there. in my experence it has not been really good at all so dont use it. now the hp recovery will load windows on it like when you bought it. it will remove everything and reinstall it

I've actually had fairly good luck with System Recovery. It won't get rid of every problem, but it's pretty decent if you have something minor you want to resolve. Hehe, and once I managed to reload a computer back to the day I installed windows (took away drivers, software...the works) then revert back to the "correct" date.

oh, i guess the only time i had problems was with viruses and it does not do a good job removing them... idk if i have a problem, it is huge and needs a restore.
