System unit running while monitor shows nothing

Hi guys. I was playing fifa 12 when suddenly my computer hanged with a white background with some vertical lines. I tried to restart the computer but then it wouldnt turn on. There is sound coming from the system unit but the monitor has nothing at all.

I've scoured google for solutions. I've tried shifting the ram sticks around but its not working. Reseating GPU, ram sticks and resetting the cmos with the jumper all does nothing. Im thinking that the gpu is busted? I hope you guys can give me some good feedback as this is a recurring issue i really want to solve once and for all.

What video card do you have? If it keeps happening over and over again then I would assume you have a failing video card.
 
I think its a MSI R5770 HAWK. It has happened before but this is the first time my computer does not turn back on. Its already been 3 days.
 
I have not as i dont have access to another system, so trying to swap out and try with other parts wouldnt be an option for me.
 
Does the mobo have any signs of life? LED glowing? Fans? Anything?

Does the mobo have onboard graphics? If so, remove the GPU and try without it.
 
Yup the mobo is fine since its LED lights are showing ok-status. Yeah i think it does but i dont have the cable to connect to it .____.
 
Hi can anyone reply me? Is there really nothing else i can do unless i use a spare gpu/vga cable/etc to test out the individual parts? Sorry for double posting but i am losing my patience with the com.
