What is this folder...

i hearrd it was like a dumping ground folder...so does that mean it needs cleaning up every now and again?

absolutely not, messing around in that folder can SERIOUSLY F*ck your comp up. The system32 *could* be called a dumping ground folder but its more of a dumping ground of the most important files on your computer. If you install drivers, the files are stored there. Your registry is somewhere in there i think. The file that detects whether your WinXP installation is activated or not is there, delete that and boom you will be forced to activate on next reboot. The shell32 file is there and without that...you prolly couldnt use your comp. Basically dont delete anything from there unless you are %2000 sure it is safe to delete and even if you are %2000 sure....dont delete it anyways.

I have tried to delete files from there before. It contains some of the files that run in Task Manager>Processes. I had a virus that was running in my processes and I found it in system32, I could not delete it though because it was being used.
