T&l

A while ago I bought a game that required T&L compatible video card, which unfortunatly mine was not. I will be buying a new computer soon and so I wanted to make sure I had the right video card that I can finally play this game. Everywhere else I look on different forums, no one yet even knows what T&L compatible means.

Could someone tell me if the 256MB ATI Radeon x600 HyperMemory is T&L compatible? And if you could, also tell me how to find out if a video card is T&L compatible.

T&L stands for transform and lighting, which used to be done by the CPU but is now done by the GPU. Any semi new GPU has it, I know FX and Geforce 6 and 7 has it(not sure baout the G4's) and that ATI card should also be fine with it.

Just out of curosity what game where you trying to play?

The GeForce is what I have, I wasn't sure if there were other video cards I had to watch out for. The game is called Dragonshard. And everything worked fine excpet my characters and the enemies were all invisible, which makes it hard in a real time strategy game.

I believe the GeForce256 was the first card to have hardware T&L and I'm fairly sure all GPUs except integrated Intel graphics (excluding X3000) have it now.
