Take over the airwaves

I was at a drive in movie the other night and started thinking, the drive in has a small FM transmitter that plays on 88.7 FM. There are attachments for the ipod or other music players that does the same thing only on a smaller scale. So what would happen if someone broght their laptop etc.. and started transmitting their own music. Any idea? if I had a transmitter I'd try it myself.
 
The trasmitter you have would barely play to the car right beside you. They do have mini trasmitters that are much more powerful than that little one you got. You can find them on ebay every so often but they are illegal without some licenece to use it.
 
Yeah, if you get one that would transmit very far..., there might be some issues with the FCC coming after you ;)... More or less, those transmitters are just designed so you don't have to mess with cords... (think wireless mice/keyboards)
 
well still, I think it would be fun to play with it and see the look of the people next to you. I mean you could also use a microphone with your laptop and transmit your voice into their car

Hah! We used to use a voice changing program back in college and make us sound like God or the Chipmunks, whoever, and mess with people passing by the dorm... It was freaking hilarious!
 
I live in a small place so I could just park next to someone I know and get that software to change my voice. Then I could call their names & stuff.. that would freak them out.
 
"This is god speaking..." LOL, now that would be fun if I could take over some local station just to do that and see some reactions :D
