Task bar question

For some unknown reason, the bar at the bottom of my display which shows the progress of each web page as it loads has vanished. (I am talking about the 6 or 7 green boxes that appear in sequence as a page loads)
I do still have the task bar and start menu, but the feature I am missing used to appear directly above them at the bottom of the screen. How do I restore it? (I went to the Control Panel and then to the Task Bar & Start Menu option but could not see anything that seemed applicable)

Sorry, I don't mean to butt in. But you should give Mozilla Firefox a try, it's much better than Internet Explorer and has the ability to use tabs(instead of having to open up different windows to view multipla pages at one time).

I agree. They say though that i.e. in windows vista is going to have tabs...?

Cool... I wasn't aware of that. I've been using my mac recently for internet. I'll have to upgrade to IE 7 when I can. Thanks for the info.

I would highly unrecommend doing that. Use Firefox or Netscape, both of which have had tabs as long as I can remember.

I've tried Firefox a few times and have yet to have any luck with it. I use Yahoo messenger and use the email icon and it always goes to IE. It seems like I have constant compatibility issues with Firefox. Unless someone can point out why yahoo does that, I'll stick with IE.

Hmmm...that's interesting. If you reinstall Yahoo after Firefox is set as the default browser, then it should work.

Yeah, there are probably some settings in Yahoo that ask you what your default browser is, and that is separate from your general computer settings.

Well, I never tried that, but I am willing to for sure.

Nice job hijacking this thread!!!

..there are plenty of FireFox vs IE threads.. there was absolutely no reason this thread should have went on past the first three posts.

Thread Closed.
