I have had this stupid phone since December 2023. I left town right after I bought it, so couldn't return it. It constantly dims my display to 71%. I reset it to 100%< but it goes back by itself. I've run antivirus and anti-malware programs on the phone. No fix. I've also put display brightness control apps on the phone. They don't work. Any clue how I can fix this, short of getting a new phone?

This is an easy fix. Go into display in settings and disable adaptive brightness.

Already did that. It still keeps going down to 71% can't even see the stuff on screen out in the sunlight

Get rid of all the other screen apps. Adaptive brightness is the culprit but other apps must be controlling it now.
