teliing what parts a comp has

i remember there was this 1 website u could type in ur comp model like...hp pavillion 23423sdkf345 and it would tell you what parts it came with..

has aonyever ever heard of such a website and sry if this is wrong section to put it in.

I know the type of parts listing sites you are referring to. But those are rather diuscontinued permanently at this late date. The old X86, Pentium Pro, 586, Compaq, Packard Bell, HP, Dell, Dec, and others once had specific pages for repair techs to go to. Now the process is simplified by simply going to the product page to read the details as well as specifications for each make and model. To sell new models companies made their product pages more let's say "user friendly" for the less computer literate shopper. The rest of us build our own systems.

A program called everest will tell you that and web sites for drivers also

SIW has one over on Everest for a stand alone system information tool that talls you "everything" literally. Besides hardware it also provides information on drivers and their versions as well as what processes are running. For this you unpack the zip in a folder and simply create a desktop shortcut. There's no entires made in the system registry and no software problems like has been seen with Everest and other diagnostic programs. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4387.html
