Temp problem with 7600GT graphics card

Hi all!!About 2 days ago I bought a Albatron 7600 GT graphics card, i installed it and tried to see how it would perform with some games..i tried Hitman:Blood money, Oblivion, NFS:Most wanted, Fear...although generally i was satisfied with it's performance i couldn't help but notice that there were small lock-ups when the "game action" was too much, also i checked the temp of the GPU and it was 70 degrees Celcius!! The idling temp was 65 degrees!! Is that normal?? I must admit that the air flow in my PC case isn't that good.. (only one fan for the case)..also since I'm in a warm country (Greece) and it's summer we got high temps, about 33*C, can this affect the GPU temp? what should I do?I downloaded the latest drivers but...:(..Many thanks in advance!(I already post it in another sub-forum but i think since it's a temp problem it should be here, plz forgive me if this is annoying! :( )
my systems spec are Pentium 4 at 3 GHz
1Gb RAM
sound card on-board
Windows XP service pack 2

That's very warm. Yes, the air temperatures definately affects the computer temperature, try keeping the computer in a cooler room. I would add some fans to your computer, definately just to increase the intake and outtake of the air. Also, look for PCI fan cards that you can plug in by the graphics card, I've seen them before, they would probably work pretty good if you have a open pci slot.

Although that's slighty high (problably from your warm environment), you shouldn't worry to much about it. GPUs are designed to go higher tempatures compared to CPUs. They can go over 100*C!

Fans are cheap, I recomend you get an other one to help air flow.

Those are good tips to lower temps.

its not too serious- what did yo use to find the temp?

also, 7600 are on 90nm cores so should run cool-

have you thought about an aftermarket Zalman HSF-? much cooler and quieter!

I bought one more case fan (Zalman ZM-F2), installed it and watched the idling temp fall from 65*C to 60*C, I removed the sides of the case so that it would open to the enviroment and placed a bigger fan blowing directly inside the case, and the temp dropped to 57*C! Big change but still i am not happy with it, where can i see which are the normal temps of my card?I think the cables in the case block the air flow, i am trying to organize them any way that i can..:( Many thanks again!

my GS idles at 70c. i have a heatsink tho
Yes, the heatsink versions have much higher temperatures.

Is the one your using have a heatsink, or both a heatsink and fan?
