hello, i have just recently built a new rig on A Lga 1156 platform, to mainly just play games. ive been watching my temps alot on speed fan and easytune6 and they seem pretty high. My Gpu is stable at 57C at idle, then goes up to 60-65c in game, and according to Easytune6 my system runs at 36C idle and around 40C in game while my CPU runs 36C idle and 40-43 in game.

My Specs

Core i5 750 Lynnfield @2.66 Ghz

Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 DDR-3

G.skill 4g 2x2 DDR-3

Nividia Geforce 9800 GT

Antec 750W

Stuffed in a rosewill blackbone midtower

Im still running on stock cooling, which seems to be garbage from what i hear....ive ordered a new cooler master Hyper cooler, but wont arrive for a few days and i want to play on my new pc =( do these temps seem normal?
can i get by while i wait for my new cooler? i was planning on overclocking but i guess not on this rinky dink intel cooler. btw i the games i play are "Heroes Of Newerth" and "Starcraft2" any help would be much appreciated!

Those temps are similar to my 9800GT temps. One thing wrong with the 9800GT and 8800GT line was crappy fan setup. The auto-fan settings are daft so you can use a program like RivaTuner to set fan profiles to fix this. Max load during summer mine hits 60c with 70% fan.

Just follow the fan guide but don't do the overclock part after the fan guide....overclocking you do at your own risk.

The G92 (8800GT/9600GT) overclock like champs. This is what they were famous for. ntune does a fine job.

hey thanks guys! ive been building blood pressure wondering if my comp is going to explode into flames. When i try to install "ntune" it says it requires a nividia nforce2 or nforce3 motherboard?
