Ok so i overclocked my i7 920 on an asus P6T Deluxe (The setup of dreams before all the new stuff came out) anyway i did it with a stock cooler (i know stupid but i just wanted to see how hot it would get, i didnt think itd be that bad). needless to say that after it reached a some 86 c in mark vantage i decided to kill it. I just want to know if i caused any permanent damage. i mean im still using the computer so i know i didnt melt the darn thing, it didnt even blue screen, but i heard that 70 c was the absolute maximum they should ever get to so im just wondering if im gonna just have it die on me any second. basically did i just screw it up for good. any help or knowledge or experience would be great, thanks.
