Temperatures Answer Quick

I just OC'd my socket 754 from 2.0ghz to 2.5ghz. Im still using stock cooling. Why is it that when I OC'd to 2.5ghz, my temperature dropped from 36 degrees to 25 degrees?

um...your temp diod must be messed up, where are you reading the temperatures from? If its from a program then you should try the bios.

1. i had that motherboard, the diode works fine.
2. did you put a new fan on it or something? maybe before you were giving it a bunch of load, and now you arent?
id say 25 celsius is good haha... i wouldnt worry about it. lol
also whats with this? "Ram- Ocz Gold Dual Channel 1ghz"
how is that possible... ddr is the only thing that AMD is compatible with, and only DDR2 goes up to frequencies that high.

Just because yours worked doesn't mean that his will - it may simply be a damaged diode

Quite possible - are both idle temps?

I'm pretty sure he means 1GB rather than 1GHZ!

Your memory says dual channel also.

Dual channel is correct, it's the 1Ghz he's saying is incorrect

Are you sure you've overclocked correctly? Does CPU_Z or device manager read 2.5ghz? Are both idle temps? Did you adjust Vcore? Did you move anything inside the case? 25C is VERY cool for an OC'd CPU on stock cooling. The ambient temperature may also have affected the result, but not by this much (unless, say, your air conditioning broke on a 35C+ day!)

hey guys, i just built a computer with an intel pentium D processor, and it says my temp is 60+ degrees on bios, i took off my heatsink and re-greased it, but its still around 60 degrees, does anyone know what the possible problem is?
