Temperatures

I just got my new rig in the case, finally.

Anyways I was wondering if you'd consider the following to be good idle temps:

NOTE! THESE ARE THE MAX PEAK TEMPS DURING IDLE, THEY CAN FLUCTUATE DOWNWARDS!

CPU: 40°C

MOBO: 24°C

SYSTEM AMBIENT: 29°C

GPU: 38°C, with OC settings 575/520

HDD0: 25°C, Maxtor DiamondMax +9

HDD1: 27°C, WD Caviar SE

Cause otherwise I'll have to take of the sidepanel and start putting the cables better together.

Anyways I was wondering if you'd consider the following to be good idle temps:

CPU: 36-40°C, it fluctuates

MOBO: 24°C

SYSTEM AMBIENT: 29°C

GPU: 37°C, with OC settings 575/520

HDD0: 24°C

HDD1: 25°C

Your CPU is a little high for idle it should be around 30c everything else is fine.

30°C? When I had it out of the case and had a fan blowing cold air towards it the temps were the same as now. And it jumps from 36-40°C because the fan speeds up and down. Trying to cool it more, around 36°C it slows down a bit and then the temps go up to 40°C and then it starts spinning more and the cycle repeats itself.

Your cpu temp is fine, and I wish the rest of my temps were the same as yours. They are all very good, what does your cpu hit when its under a 100% load?

Haven't seen the 100% load temp actually.

EDIT:

It's 50°C as max peak but it's usually around 48°C under full load. So the max peak is about 15°C from the max temperature the CPU can take. Wonder how I could make the fan spin at full all the time cause it slows down and speeds up according to the temp.

See if you can, because if it only hits like 45c under a full load then you are definately fine, if its hitting like 50's its not quite as good.

Not really your fine, unless you want to, its always a good upgrade, however you really need to see what the temps are under a load.

Temps look good, a aftermarket cooler might be nice to get the cpu down a little more. I don't think you need Artic silver 5 though, in my experance your just paying for the brand name.

$6 for a brand name that from personal experience will lower temps by a few degrees. I say its worth it.

Mine never goes beyond 40c on load so something might not be seated right or your using to much thermal compound.

That is a very good possibility.

And thermal pad generally equals crap. They just don't work as well as thermal compound.

I'm using the stock HSF and the thermal pad that was on it.

Thats your problem the thermal pad i would suggest getting some artic silver 5 and putting that on instead of the thermal pad it will be alot better.

The only reason they use thermal pads is for the ease of the user, its not good in any way, it does the job to the bare minimum, especially on a cpu its not a good idea. Like my heatsink for my gpu has thermal pads for the ram, thats ok, just not antyhing that needs a lot of heat dissipation.

It's just that AS5 costs alot here. But then again it's almost 100% silver, so I guess it's worth 7.90€. :P

7.90€ like I said, and you can't find almost any other thermal paste, but the shipping costs about 5.50€ and then 0.90€ packaging.

Hmm, I hate shipping costs. I don't know, your cpu temps really aren't something you should be worrying about, just something to keep your eye on.

Since my parents are gonna go on a motorcycle trip around a city, where there is a shop which sells AS5, they might pick it up for me while they're there. So no shipping cost. :P
