Some of yall heard my Asus Slot 1 Mobo, with a 400Mhz P3 That I overclocked. I took it slow... but sometimes I was an idiot. a Just from 400MHz to 533Mhz... or 600Mhz. IT was a weird processor, it had the 3 buttons: Manual, 266Mhz, 400Mhz. At 266 MHz idle was around 40-50C idle
(the heatsink + paste installed correctly, probable cause the fans move like 5-10
CFM each??)... 500Mhz was 50+ Idle
.. 533 was 65C+ idle.. and 600Mhz.. >( doh! 85C idle. no kidding.
I got these off the Bios. and the bios clearly said that these are the most accurate temperatures around... why hasnt it fried?? it has 2 case fans.. and the airflow sucks. so:
1. why has the CPU survived?
2. can someone point me to a good copper/aluminum heatsink with fast fans?
3. is the slot 1's sooo hot?
4. whats a good case for under $30?
5. you cant even feel the case fans 6-8 inches away. point meout good fans?
6. all the expansion slots in the back are open ...
