Temps

Based on the rig in my system I was wondering what temps I should expect to read and what temps I should try to get my system down to (both idle and at load) I just want to make sure that my system doesn't run too hot.

Besides the dvd burner in your sig(I hate memorex sorry) it appears you have quite a build there. BFG is good name while MSI seems to have an edge at times for video. Basically the air flow looks better there with a pair of 120mm case fans front and rear. The new cpus max at about 60-70C depending on model and type.

Idle should down in the low 30s with a good 3rd party cpu cooler like a Zalman or Artic Cooling model. Boards temps should be just under that also in the low 30s for good idle temps. Corsair makes some good supplies that don't draw as much electricity to see the wattage output. That's a plus there for helping with a cooler running supply.

SpeedFan is one tool often advised for keeping an eye on temps. That's free at http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Another free tool that also reports cpu temp while SpeedFan also shows board and drive temps too is a system information tool that gives a full breakdown on softwares as well as hardwares. The cpu temp readings in hardware>cpu section are as accurate as something like the Asus Temp Probe for their boards. http://www.gtopala.com/
 
When i had mine at 2.8ghz and stock cooler i was getting about 35-40*c idle, now OC'ed to 3.33 i get 27*c idle with my Zalman 9500
 
One of the reasons why an oced cpu sees low temps has more to do with good air flow througout the case more then the cpu cooler used. With the same cooler on the stock run Atholon 3500+ single core 939 cpu here the cpu saw 44-46C idle before moving everything out of the old case. The 48C temp seen on the board dropped sharply to 31C immediately. And this was after the breakin time needed for AS5.
 
My cpu normally idles around 32 or 33 and my mobo at like 36 or 37. Should I get an aftermarket cpu fan/heatsink... I was also looking at a memory cooling fan will that help with my mobo temps?

EDIT: How about pci slot coolers to run above my video card, would that bring down my mobo temp?

I had a pci slot fan in the last build and simply tossed it away for the lack of anything seen with it. Having some good air flow with larger or simply more case fans will go a long ways in seeing temps kept down. The board temps would then drop a little more from that. The cpu temps there are good for a stock hsf. With the 3500+ 939 model here I ended up seeing a 28C cpu temp after the system had been running all day and night plus gaming for awhile simply due to what? The large front intake took in the air from an air conditioned room! At other times depending humidity as well as I may see 36C with the board at 33-34C during that same amount of time. This is with a good 3rd party cpu cooler.
