Terraria

Just the other day my brother gifted it to me. We've been playing nonstop. I really recommend this game if anyone is on the boarder of buying/not buying it.
 
It is a 2D minecraft, just more emphasis on exploring/dungeons. Apart from the exploring, I don't much like it
 
Actually, I kind of like it. besides the fact that nights are way too long, And monsters can mysteries hike over walls when they are off screen.

Its kind of lime a 3rd person 2d minecraft. Its more focused on exploring than building however and so far I found it enjoyable. I bought it for my crappy laptop as I have a lot of down time at work. I get my work done faster than they can project it and always complain about being behind :P Job gets done and my employer can't abuse me for doing my job effectively ^-^
 
Yeah, especially for PC's that can't handle minecraft very well, this game is a good alternative. My only issue now is I can't get npc's to move into my houses.

Make 1 table 2 chairs and add light/door and they will move in and make sure the house is at least 5 blocks high and 15 blocks wide at least. NPCs like Gunsmith/Dryad/Nurse require you to find a gun/kill strong enemy/increase health (glass hearts + hammer)
