Whenever i open a application of any kind (internet explorer, norton, nero, media player, etc) i get a error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). i using someone computer right now and i really need help!!
The only time the error doesn't apper is when i open microsoft word and windows explorer. i really need help

sounds like the registry is seriously currupted

I'd suggest doing a repair install or a fresh format install

i can't format since i lost the xp cd!!! (dont laugh at me, it wasn't my flaut)

i dont think you have much choice your either gonna have to bring a serious computer expert for a lot of money to fix your computer or buy a new XP cd. if you have 2hard discs i would recommend that you save the important stuff on the other and try out if it work after a reïnstall if not youll just have to format the thing
