The best Antivirus

hi,

whats the best antivirus out there??
i am using AVG Free Edition and its far better than norton for me.

any other suggestions??

Yea, that's about it. NOD32 is usually considered one of the elite, too, but there ain't a free version of it.
 
I use Avast! on all of our computers (4), and we haven't faced viruses since. We have had to viruses trying to download, but Avast! always catches them and cancels the connection before they have a chance to.

I used to use Avira AntiVir but got fed up after a while because it kept saying random things were viruses or trojans- an example being my CCTV capture card software.

I heard AVG was quite popular so I've been using that for the past 3 weeks and its been perfect.
 
I use Norton, and it works OK for me.

I'm no expert, but my line of thought is that Norton you have to pay for, whereas AVG is free, so I imagine Norton is better. Along the lines of the sayings "There's no such thing as a free lunch" and "You get what you pay for".

Anyone else have any views on my statement above as it has intrigued me a bit now....
