Hi guys. I was woundering if you could think of any improvements or additions to this list of things to do to keep your pc in tip top condition. I will be editing this post and using it like a blog to keep everyone up to date.
So here it is, what I think are the best ways to keep a pc in shape:

Tests are probably best run in safe mode to maximise the effectivness.
Knock off system restore
Turn firewall on
Msconfig - remove dodgey system start-up files
Spybot
Adaware
Add/remove any known malicious progs.
Norton system works - win doctor
- speed disk
- one button checkup
Norton clean up
AV updates
Virus scan
Windows updates
Spyware blaster
turn on system restore again
[/list]

These are good but of course u need to be safe while ur doing these, so don't forget to have ur firewall protection turned on.

1. Stinger is useless... it is designed only for specific viruses and that's all, your full antivirus program should be used.
2. When running Ad-Aware, install the VX2 plugin first and only run full scan, not the smart-scan.
3. I use CCleaner to clean up useless junk files, and RegScrubXP to help clean out the registry, (I've use RegScrubXP on no less than 10-15 computers and so far have had NO adverse effects from using it,... I highly recommend it). :)
