The Better Gaming Device?

Hey there i am currently looking for a great Gaming PC. I want to be able to play the the best games out there. I want a Pc/laptop that will be able to handle any game that is out right now i want the latest technology. I was wondering if its a better idea to get this

Keep in mind i will be buying a coolpad for the laptop. Also i will be hooking whichever device to my 55 inch hd tv so screen doesnt matter im simply wondering which will be a better choice. Also i will be going into university in about a year so i will be needing a laptop anyways and i will be occasionally going out and needing something portable.

Which Device is more powerful and better for gaming. (also i have already thought about buildind my own computer so dont suggest that just tell me which device is better and some reasons).
 
the desktop is obviosly faster, but thought you said you wanted portable, and that laptop is actually great for the price, newegg doesn't have anything that'll touch it at that price or even 1500

yes, a i7-2600k at 3.4ghz is faster than an i7-2630qm at 2.0ghz, and i don't believe the gtx 555m is faster than a hd6870, since it's equal to the 560 ti, which is better than the 560, which is a good bit better than the mobile that is faster than the 555m, so yes the laptop is faster by all means
 
The Desktop will perform better,but since you are investing so much in you computer I would suggest,you build one your own.
YOu can have a better config and better quality of parts and more future upgradibility and a killer case of your choice and it still would be the easiest thing you will ever do :D.
 
well the last thing he put was he didn't want to build one, so i would've said that too but he said no before-hand
