The Full ATI R600 Test

looks pretty good to me wonder how much it will cost though Im guessing about the same as 8800gtx

We have to note again that these results come from a pre-release driver which has not been optimized yet. Therefore, we expect to see a further increase in performance soon. nVidia will undoubtedly optimize their drivers over time as well, especially in combination with the upcoming Windows Vista.

I thought that was interesting :). These are just preliminary preliminary tests..

According to the article it will be released on January 22, with an MSRP of 630USD.

Honestly it's about what I expected to see. No doubt results will improve slightly as driver optimizations are released.

ahhh thats way to much for me I will just have to stick with waiting for the medium-priced dx10 cards:(

:btw off-topic but ceewi1 did that mobo of yours boot without you having to change the ram voltage settings?

Wow, not as good as I thought. The 8800GTX performed better in BF2.
R600 performed better than 8800GTX by 1 frame in COD2

im still somewhat impressed, they did well overall, its a contender, hopefully with new drivers there might be a somewhat boost in performance,i was looking into buying one when it comes out...who knows though.
