i read a rather interesting fact in a computer magazine yesterday.... turns out that google is now worth more than the country of indonesia, the 4th most populated country in the world.... and to think that it all started as a simple search engine! what do people think about google??

i think google is awesome
it can do basically anything and everything you need
but there in lie's the problem, i love google and all, but it's kind of like having a building 90 stories tall when your tallest firetruck can only reach 30 stories.
it's getting too powerful.

i have a feeling that google will end up taking over the world.
(still not sure if that would be a bad thing though)

how are google and microsoft competing? google makes no hardware, they dont have an os, no web browser, dont charge for thier sevices, etc. what areas are they competing in and why are their "CEO's" throwing charis? and just how many CEO's do they have? i thought bill was the only one?
of course their value is constantly changing, last article I read valued google at around US$125 billion dollars, which is a lot more than initial pre-float speculation which if I recall correctly was valuing it at around $18 billion.
Dont underestimate advertising, the internet is changing the way people spend for certain types of items, and unlike conventional advertising which is shared amongst many companies, internet advertising seems to be dominated by the big three players, google, yahoo and msn of which google currently appears to be the biggest in terms of search advertising.

As for what I think of google ... lets all do a test. I want to search for .. hmmm "3. 1415" (without the quotes) and i want to search for EXACTLY THAT. So, I'll follow googles instructions for how to search for exact things by entering my search with quotes and hi tthe search button .... and what do I get?
