the key bad?

Ok we bought this http://www.oem4xp.com/106_OEM-Windows-Xp-Professional-SP2-Full-version.html for our new computer. well we louded it up put key in and was donig the updates and well we cant do the updates, it saying "this copy of windows did not pass genuine validation" ... ummm does that mean we got ripped off???

How did the disk come packaged? Like a normal XP cd from microsoft? You most likely will have to call them and find out whats going on, if you can even reach them. That company is from China, is that where you are from?

im from GA in the USA.. it came in like carbord taped and the key was inside on a plastic wraping around the cd. ya it was probably stolen... i guess i can call them up but wow ya over seas thats a killer phone bill. but sounds like i going to have to. I hope i can reach them.

You might be spending more doing it that way then if you were just go out and get a new legit copy of XP. Never know what an overseas call will cost you, especially if you have to hold.
