The More I Do the Worse It Gets!

My mom has been complaining about her 14 month old Toshiba laptop. I take a look and she hasn't updated it in forever. When updating it get stuck on the dreaded configuring updates 3 of 3, 0% completed.

She couldnt find the system recovery disk to restore it, so I try to load Windows 7 on the laptop. It completes but gets an error.

I found the toshiba restore disk but it still doesn't work.

Now it says missing bootmgr. I can run the system recovery disk but none of the options on it will even work.

Any help?

Did the system recovery disc comw with the computer and say Toshiba on it??

You can most likely contact toshiba with your serial number and they will send you a correct placement.

Yes. It is the one that came with it

I thought you said you couldnt find it? It may be a corrupt disk if it fails.

We couldn't at 1st which is why I tried to install 7 which seemed to just make it worse
