the new X64 edition of Windows XP pro

Has anyone heard of it yet? i just read it in my PCWorld magizine i got recently for March 2005. i find one thing that is going to be annoying about it though, there is a Internet Explorer (32-bit) and an Internet Explorer (64-bit). I'm sure that all of the programs like firefox will have to totally redo all of their software! uh oh.
 
Don't worry. 64-bit are usually designed for business or gaming. 32-bit programs and OS will still be available. (until 128-bit applications and OS comes out! Then we will have to got to 64-bit)
 
oh you mean RC2? no, im not part of the beta testers in crew. but i have 1289 and 1218 (old versions) installed. oh, and there is already a 64 bit version of firefox.

there are still 16 bit apps. they didnt disappear as soon as 64 bit was released. by your logic, if and when 128bit goes mainstream there will be no more 32 bit apps.

umm...no....i specifically said Windows XP Professional version X64 as my magazine, PC-World states. :D

here is a times table of 64-bit milestones (from mag)
1. AMD Athlon 64 came out September 2003
2. Windows XP Professional X64 Edition comes out Spring 2005 (if it isn't like Halo 2)
3. Intel X64 Pentium 4 comes out spring 2005 (must be the same time)
4. AMD Turion second-generation 64-bit notebook CPUs comes out Spring 2005
5. Longhorn X64
