THE NEXT VERSION BEING IE 8 no surpize!

Didn't make it? Is that the best excuse they have?

Yeah, IE needs a few more revisions even though, ppl are still using IE4...

IE 6 unfortunately lacked a good replacement far before Vista was out. A full 6yrs. went by to see a new verion while previous releases came out fast between the 9x-ME years. After this amount of time Vista should actually be seeing an IE 9 version since IE 6 was full of security holes.

Once the next version of FireFox is available in the finished version it may see the best reception since many are dissatisfied with the current IE 7 browser included in Vista and available for XP. The bugs some still see with the MS browser do seem to keep the antivirus and adware/spyware software vendors busy on the other hand despite the few improvements seen with it over IE 6.

So far IE 7 has only seen a few minor annoyaances to what had been seen with 6.0 despite the MS updates seen for the old IE there. You could easily find yourself on a odd site where you then saw a browser hijacker or some other trojan type copied to the drive immediately without you knowing until new startups downloading other bugs or IE was redirected to one site.

Ad-Aware is good for removing the registry entries for that type of crap. Other adware/spyware removal tools became popular since they would find the stuff IE 6 allowed through with ease. Those who dual boot or contemplate dual booting Linux along with Windows already look at FireFox as the browser to use on Windows as well as the distro they may be running.
